Two Face might come back... I don't think he necessarily "died" even though they held a funeral... neither of the two people who saw him fall specifically SAID he was dead. They lied about how he spent his last few days, why not lie about his death? Maybe they locked him up in a sanitarium because he'd gone insane. For those who saw the movie, think about it... I'd like to know if I'm the only person who thinks this, lol.

^^ i thought the same thing.

as far as having another joker, they pretty much have to dont they? i mean, the joker the the polar opposite of batman and they always battle against one another. the joker always breaks out of the mental institution and causes mischief. IF they do bring back the joker in the next movie, i vote that johnny depp portray the joker. he always "becomes" his character. what are everyones thoughts on that?

Johnny Depp would be a good choice. However, I think a whole bunch of people wouldn't like his performance no matter what he did because they'd be expecting a Heath Ledger-esque interpretation of the character. Pity, he'd be good at it too.

glad to know that others wondered the same thing. :) ^^

WHY SO SERIOUS!?

Yeah, it'll definitely be really hard for anyone to be the next joker, Heath Ledger raised the bar pretty high. But it's not like it's impossible, I think with actors like Heath Ledger really showing how much one can get into character, more and more actors will begin to do the same.

This hasn't been said, but it's just a thought about why Katie Holmes may have not wanted to be in this one (it's our theory on it anyway). We think that she may have just not wanted to die in a movie; perhaps that one aspect alone turned her off from the role, as dying in a movie can sort of be a forshadowing of the end of one's career, so-to-speak. Of course, there are people that have died in movies and it wasn't the end of their career..

But anyway, that sure was one GREAT movie. I wonder about what really happened to Ledger.. like maybe he got into the role a little too much and lost his mind? I don't know, but I always loved him in pretty much all that he's done. RIP Heath.

I don't know how in the world i missed this thread for so long.....

I loved the movie, i had been waiting for well over a year to see it and for once my expectations were not only met, but exceeded in every way. Ledger completely steals the show, making Jack Nicholson's Joker look like a low-end broadway musical. I really loved it, can't wait until the dvd (release date is scheduled for November).

As for Katie Holmes, she didn't reprise her role due to scheduling conflicts. She was in the middle of another movie when DK started filming.....i wonder how bad she's kicking herself in the bum for that....last time i checked the movie was about 10 million dollars from grossing 500 million at the box office lol:D

So far the big rumors for the 3rd are this.

1)Recast Joker-before ledger's death, the plan was to continue the Joker character into the 3rd installment in the series according to Chris Nolan (director). In fact, Nolan even said the 2nd was more of an intro to Joker and the 3rd was going to be really when they got into it......such a shame.

2)Two Face-With the way DK was ended, it is very obvious they intend to make the decision of bringing Two Face back later. If they do, I'd expect them to show the progression of the character becoming more and more psychotic and completely losing his "good" side.

3)Riddler or Penguin-The major word is the possibility of Johnny Depp doing Riddler or Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin. I personally like both choices quite a bit, both are very talented actors who could easily pull off those roles. While I like Riddler, I hope they do something new with the character. He's cool and all, but I've always looked to him as sort of a toned down version of Joker. Similar personality, the key difference being Joker is by far the most psychotic. I like to refer to Riddler as "PG Joker" lol.

I can't wait to see what they come up with for the next one, no matter the choice i have the utmost confidence that Nolan will continue to impress us all.

We''ll probably never know what really happened to Ledger, though I seriously doubt the Joker role was the cause of his tragic death. I'm sure it disturbed him to a degree, he even commented about it on multiple occasions, but I can't see how it would do that. From what it sounds like, based on the autopsy report and everything it was just a really bad accident. He was on many different kinds of anti-depressents/anxiety, sleep aids and pain killers, none of which if taken correctly would kill you, but if taken in combination they can be quite lethal. The autopsy concluded he didn't take too many of any one medication, but it was just too many at once. According to his close friends and family, he had trouble with insomnia & was actually fighting off a respiratory illness at the time of his death. On the day of his death, he had just returned from filming in Europe and was reportedly exhausted. I wouldn't be shocked if he was just so desperate for sleep he started taking his pills, one after another and didn't realize that he was going too far. It may seem dumb but it's very easy to screw up when taking medication. Everyone reacts differently, and anyone that has had insomnia for any real length of time can agree you start to get pretty desperate when you haven't slept in awhile. While I can't defend the pain killers, he didn't take an excessive amount of them but I would guess that was really the causing factor in his death. Combining pain killers with those other drugs is really risky, you basically just shut down. What I don't get is how doctor's are getting away with prescribing all these drugs to people. It's sad, but we live in a society that would rather throw drugs at a person than actually try and solve the problem....

I know all too well how unpleasant insomnia can be. Thanks for sharing that information, I honestly didn't know any of that which you shared.
