The ecosystem growing in Franklin's tank

Looks like my baby YBS likes having roommates. He's about 6-8 inches now in carapace length. He has 3 rosies, a large crawfish(it was small, he never ate it out of the 3 I gave him) and now 2 fiddler crabs. The Crawfish and fiddlers I don't mind because I can use the scavengers in his tank. Tadpoles don't even last 24 hours in there. Does anyone else's turtles have roommates that were meant for food and became a mainstay? I just found this to be funny.

Some of my feeder goldfish never got ate. My wife made me take them out after 5 days and put them in a 5 gallon tank I had. My friend Joe has a Snapping turtle that had 3 goldfish as tank mates. I think after a couple months he finally ate them.

I have an Oscar that didn’t eat a crayfish forever. I have even heard of mice, and cats getting along really well together, as well as koi and dogs.

I've had her leave goldfish alone for a while. She always eats them eventually. I think she's just letting them grow for a "Thanksgivin" size meal.

Any chance for updated pics on Franklin?

I was thinking about it last night, and I haven't seen a young one in a looong time...I miss having little ones around ;)

No worries ;). Weak moment, my girl isn't with me during the day any more...still haven't quite gotten used to it. I can always do some searching to get my fix...

Good luck with the new additions!
