The "I am Sooooooo Tired of Winter" thread

We're in Kansas for the first time this year. We moved here from Colorado (Denver/Boulder) and we're moving back as soon as we can this summer. I can't handle the humid air in the summer, and the dreary winter sucks.

Colorado gets a lot of snow volume-wise, but it always melts within days of falling - and it's right back up into (at least) the 40s. (Well, except this weird cold snap they've had off and on for the last couple months - we couldn't even fly out the weekend of Christmas). The thing I love about Colorado is the SUN. It's sunny 300+ days of the year. So even if there's snow on the ground, it's gorgeous and the sun feels great. I grew up in Michigan where it was cold, cloudy, and gross pretty much from November to April. Colorado is perfect for people who are negatively affected by winter.

I hope you get some inspiring, wonderful weather soon, Sandy. Hang in there! :daisy:

We got roughly 10" of snow overnight (I'm guessing there, as it usually takes 10" for my car to start "plowing" and throwing snow over the hood, and that's what it was doing) and they say we're in for at least another 10" starting this afternoon through Monday. Great.

Yeah, they told us the snow would start around 11 am today but nothing yet. I was born in summer and I guess that lead to me loving warm weather. I love when it is hot outside, but I like sleeping in the cold.

Paul,
I just got back from Madison at about 11:45 p.m.
It took me bout 2 hours to drive 45 min.. We were up to the Kohl center for the highschool state wrestling tourney all day. We got stuck just north of Evansville on hwy 14. Got stuck in my dodge ram in the road, not the ditch!! The snow drifts were up to 3 feet in the roads and alot higher off the road. There were cars stuck all over in the road, that was how I got stuck. Finally got out and just hammered though the drifts all the way home!!! This stuff sucks!!!!!!

Yikes guys
I feel like a wuss for whining so bad
:p

We didn't get any more snow last night but we had some ice/sleet come down that knocked out the TV/INTERNET/Phone (all on one system) etc. but the electric stayed on and I was very thankful for that because I stayed toasty warm inside and so did all of the critters
