Well now that 2008 is coming to an end, I took some time today to think of what all happened. Like every other year it was filled with ups and downs.
2008 was definitely the year of the enigma. Love it or hate it, it brought something new and the possibilities to "create" something never seen before. It breathed some life into some "old school" morphs, and caused some questionable and sad things to happen as well. Enigmas brought out the best and the worst in the community.
I would like to thank all of the breeders and keepers of leopard geckos, and all of the people of this forum. I would like to give a special thanks to the people that put there time in every day to keep this site running, and giving us all a place to go for all of us that are gecko crazy. :main_thumbsup:
I would also like to thank all of the gecko friends. With out you guys I'm sure I would have said I had it and walked away. But going to the shows and talk geckos on the phone keeps me going. I would say all of your names but you know who you are. :main_thumbsup:
The future is going to be interesting one. Some breeders are getting out, the economy is going down hill, and there are a lot of geckos in the market.
2009 should be a year we are all looking forward to. With new crosses and combos, maybe even something never seen before. But I believe hard times are just going to get harder for now. I pray for a quick turn around. But we will have to see. No one knows what the future holds.
I hope as a community we stick together like the family we are. Times may get rough but it will pass. "Nothing last forever."
In closing I wish all of you the best. A happy healthy New Year and wish you all reach your goals whether it may be with geckos or in your own personal lives. Just remember no matter how bad it is you have your friends here on GeckoForums.net
