after having a bunch of problems with my hovabators last season, i dicided to finally get my own good reliable incubator.....or atleast build one. this incubator is 40"long, 13"deep, and 13" high. all i need now is a helix, and ill be getting one next weekend. oh yeah, and some more eggs to fill it with. its big enough for ALOT of leo eggs, and some ball python clutches. if thiss really works out over the next month, ill be building another one for my burm clutches.

joey, ill be using a helix thermostat for it. its one of the best. and the humidity, ill be using the same method for greentree pythons. that is...vermiculite or pearlite filled with water till it starts to float, and a plastic grid placed on top and than the eggs ontop of the grid

Does the heat tape touch the rack? If so that might be a problem. I really don't know however because I've never attempted to build a incubator but I would think the metal rack would conduct the heat a lot faster and therefore the containers would be hotter then the temperature in the incubator would show.
