OMG. That person deserves to have their *** kicked if they are the one that let that animal get in that shape. It is aweful but that poor baby would be better off dead then having to live like that. I fail to understand some people.

It's a case of common ignorance. If you look in the background you can see a dish of "Leopard gecko food" that they sell at Petsm**t. It's basically dead wingless fruitflies, and it stinks really bad. They think that they're giving the gecko all the food it wants, but in reality I've never had a gecko that will eat it.
It's sad, but a lot of people just don't really know that they're doing it wrong.

You know what the worst part of this is? When that one dies very soon, which it will, they are going to go out and buy another one and it will end up with the same fate.

I can only hope that the reason for the ignorance is their age and that they won't be able to afford buying new ones. I'd like to believe that an intelligent adult would notice that they weren't eating and think that they should do something to correct that, if for no other reason than because they don't want to lose the money they spent on them. I'd like to hope so anyways.

Did you notice that there are at least 2 maybe three more leos in that tank!!!! The brief glimpses of the other leos showed that they were in better shape....wonder if that is why the sickly one lost it's tail...it kills me to see it coming up to the camera looking for food. Too bad people don't have to apply for a license to own animals...something similar to a driver's license. I feel VERY sorry for that poor leo...

I haven't watched the video because these things really depress me, but has anyone thought of contacting the person and offering some advice? I recently saw a starved leo in person when I went to someone's place to sell them some feeder mice. I guess it was one of his daughter's hatchlings. I just told him it really needed to eat. I hope it got the attention it deserved.

Disclaimer: I never intended to breed feeder mice, but I had a few extra and they have spiraled way out of control. It's taking up a lot of my time now.... I've got to get on top of the situation this week or it's gonna kill me.

And..... back on topic. :D The fact that there are people out there who don't know how to, or won't take the time to care for their pets makes me even more hesitant to sell any of my leos. So if I place an ad and you're looking to buy a leo from me, be prepared for a polite but thorough grilling. :main_evilgrin:
