This may be a silly question but...

I was wondering if Mini Mealworms would be okay to feed to my hatchlings. I am assuming they are pretty much the same thing as regular mealworms, just smaller. I can't find small mealworms in any of the local stores and one of my hatchlings will not eat crickets. I was hoping to try the Minies.

They may suffice dependant on how big they are, people usually try feeding hatchlings smaller things as its easier for them to digest... But you can feed any size really...

Minimealworms are FANTASTIC!!!!! They are actually what I’m feeding my hatchlings right now. They all seem to be doing great on them, and I’ll use them until we get are regular mealworms back. The only reason I won’t use them then, is because they cost a little more, especially if you do it by weight.

Thanks so much for the replies. I will order some tomorrow! What do you store yours in? The only thing I worry about is them escaping.

The ones I had were just too small. None of my hatchlings were interested in them. I've been feeding them smaller mealworms. The minis were tiny. I hope they work out for you though.

Are mini-mealies just baby mealies or are they a different breed of mealies?

Actually, the ones I tried were a different species--and they were just too small. I'm doing the cricket thing with all my hatchlings since the mealworm shortage--and I HATE crickets...but desperate times call for desperate measures...

Well, I don't know what else to do! One of my babies will not eat crickets. I put some in there for her and she freaked out! So I tried to feed her some wax worms just to get something in her and she had no interest in them either. I am going to order the mini's but the earliest they can get here is Monday. Is there anything anyone can suggest to feed her? Or is there a way to force feed? I don't want to do that but, she is soooo skinny I don't know if she can make it that long. :(
