I live in the very far south of Florida... about as close to the equator as one can get in the US. Now that winter is over and our weather is getting to it's normal hot temperatures, I'm wondering about housing my geckos on my lanai. It is completely screened in and gets no direct sunlight, but is in the 90's most of the day, and in the upper 70's at night. Whenever I take my geckos onto the lanai, they seem to perk up - noses in the air.
Once the heat hits, the house will get closed up and the air condition will be on around the clock, keeping us at about 72 degrees.
Any thoughts on the subject? Think my geckos might enjoy the fresh air and natural heat rather than recycled cold air? Of course I have UTH, and I would still maintain the appropriate in-tank temp. Just curious to know if anyone else out there has theirs in an outdoors type environment (without actually being outdoors).
