Well listening to an old show from ron tremper, and he reccommends 1 pinky a week for breeding/laying females. I'm wondering about this mainly because one of my females the day before she laid was 67g, the day she laid was down to 52. other female wasn't as big but was 54 after laying 2 duds. i'm wondering about this i've seen yes and no's and if i was to ever do it i would get the smallest ofcourse... but my main question would be ie.. my females are full of egs and need to lay, should you do that after they lay or while they still have the eggs?

I could be wrong here :main_laugh: but that seems like a rediculous amount of weight to lose from laying a pair of eggs... I have had females lay close to 20 eggs in a season and not even lose a quarter of what you say yours lost...

Anyway, if you are feeding your leos a proper insect diet and are keeping them hot enough, there is no reason to ever introduce rodentd into their diet...

they're 90 on warm side and eat mealies, they dont eat a ton of feeders cause the food is always there, but the mealies have a very nutritious bedding, the eggs were pretty heavy both sets have been pretty heavy from her, they were around the 10g mark alone together, i didn't weigh her latest 2 but they were a bit heavier even.

when i mean after laying i mean immediately, never seem to have the scale inbetween laying and not laying hehe. i do have the scale still i could re-weigh her nowthat it's been 1 day later.

Agreed, rodent pinks are very fatty. Phoenix worms, hornworms or silkworms would be a better bet IMO

well since she's still producing should i wait till she stops before i try to get more weight on her if she needs it? even right after laying she's still over 50g so i dont think i have a lot to worry about, till after she stops producing eggs, her 2nd clutch just candled fertile today :D i'm so happy
