What size tank is it in? How many geckos are with it? What substrate is it on? How is heat being applied? What are the temps, cool side and warm side? What are you offering for food? How long has it been since your gecko has eaten? Have you ever taken your gecko to a vet for a fecal, if yes, what were the results?

If you answer all of those, we will be able to help you more than likely.

If all of the answers to Kyle's questions are good, your next step would be to try Marcia's Slurry recipe. You can find that right at the top of the Health and Medication forum. But the first step is to answer the questions Kyle just asked. Also, can you post a picture of it so we can see exactly how thin it is?

Yes, we need more info on the age/size of the gecko, how long you have had it, how it is housed, is it alone or with other geckos, what kind of heat, the type of substrate, etc. The problem could be as simple as adjusting the heat, or as complicated as a parasitic infection that needs veterinary intervention.

hes in a 70 gallon tank that is divided in half with a bigger gecko on the other side he is on sand and has a heating pad on the side of the tank. plenty of pleaces to hide and has not been eating meal worms and crickets but just now started to eat them but he is really thin and has barley any tail to him.

A picture would really help. Like we have said before, we need info on the gecko's age and size. Are you using a thermostat to know what the temperature is at in the tank? How are his droppings? I ask that because of the fact he is on sand and may be having problems due to that. Give us as much info as you can along with a picture if possible.

You said there was a heating pad on the side of the tank. Which side? The heat pad should be underneath the tank where both halves can have belly heat to both geckos. Without proper heat, the gecko's digestive system, immune system, and metabolism will not function properly. Also, if the gecko is small and on sand, there is a risk of intestinal impaction that can be fatal.

he could be stressed perhaps if he is seeing the larger gecko through the divider.

why will he not eat worms?

Mine took a while to start. Try either hand feeding him or tweezer feeding. He may not realize what they are. I placed one at a time in front of him on the ground. He attacked as soon as he saw them moving (after playing with it a little). It is also possible that he just doesn't like them. But if he has never had them, you can't assume that's the case.

We still need all the info we asked for earlier. How old is he? What does he weigh? Has he been going to the bathroom? <-- If not, it may be impaction due to the fact you have him on sand. What are the temps? Start with answering these questions and hopefully we can do more.

IS he new? He might just be a little scared and need time to get used to his cage. I recommend taing out sand and choosing from all the other possibilitys
