Twiggs toe is pretty much the same. I talked to the vet today and he thinks a wait and see is in order...clean paper towel in her 15qt tub and neo for the weekend. If needed we will snip the bone tip off so she can just heal up. My vet did also give me direction on what I would need to do to snip the tip off myself. Being a nurse has its benefits I guess as I already have all I need in my closet..sterile suture scissors and half strength betadine which is all he would use to take that little tip off....Im not ready to jump into all of that just yet but will do it if the bone seems to be an issue.

She's a champ ate 10 mealies tonight, so thats encouraging.

@ Dennis Im RIGHT with you I consider myself a fairly patient person but I am absolutely DONE with that kid!

Sounds like a sound plan of action, Mel. Being in the nursing field does have it's advantages when it comes to having confidence in treating gecko wounds :) Of course having a good reptile vet is crucial for detailed advice.

Remember the ignore forum feature.............

I know Laney I really should figure out how to use that feature. Being Facebook friends with your vet is also a VERY useful feature! Now if only he and i had skype we would be set!

I actually just got a friend to agree to come over to help me take care of the toe, sent some more pics to my Vet and he thinks getting that bone tip off will help it close and heal so AmberJean's gonna come and hold my little girl! :( If I can lance a boil on a human a bone tip on a Leo should be no sweat...right :S

My poor little leo! I'll post before and after pics. Im also sure Twigg will feel better not have that bare bone touching everything I know its gotta hurt!

All went well! Big thanks to Amber for coming over to hold her! But we had to laugh Twigg barely flinched! She's like the worlds calmest Leo! So was able to cut that piece up bone off and it looks a lot better!!! Now triple antibiotics and time!
