OK...
I just noticed two things one my one month old Mack Snow, Snowy. The back left finger (i guess it would be a pointer finger...it was the longest one) had a tiny white thing almost folding off the finger...but was stuck on the end...That looked a lot like stuck shed. I also noticed a piece of almost black stuff that looked like dirty paper towel on the front left toe (the same finger as last time just a different foot)...When I looked close it looked almost like she had lost half of her toe and got a piece of paper towel stuck to the wound (hope thats not it)...So I took her and soaked her for ten minutes in warm water and rubbed the toes with q-tips to try to get the stuff off. Neither of them would come off easily. I tried to get pictures but my camera isn't good enough to take closeups. When I looked closer, the second problem didn't look like a stubbed toe...But still looked bad. Almost looked like a toe with some sort of paper coming off that was brown. Ask any questions and I'll answer the best I can.
Thanks for reading, Sam

Sounds like stuck shed. A magnifying glass is sometimes needed for these things. Continue soaking, rubbing area with wet fingers.....sort of trying to roll it off the end of the toe. Brown color sometimes is toe loss but that's why the Mag. Glass is important. Keep trying to soak and remove because it can make a problem with use of the toe...... Take care. HJ
