ok i had an earlyer post about my wild tokay.. well turns out its not so bad but i had to catch him/her yesterday to clean out the cage and finally caught him with leather gloves but it did bite the gloves and latch on and was also suction cuped to the glass at the time so my question is:

what is the safest easiest way to get him to let go of my hand if he does bare skin bite me?

and also what is the safest easiest was to make him unsuction cup from the glass, log, ect.?

i also had some questions about his coloring his head is light blue with orange spots and his back and tail are like a green with light blue and orange spots.. he is very beautiful. the guy said about 8 months old or so but he doesnt seem to know much. the pics arent the greatest but i dont know of many tokays that are fond of getting their pic taken. tell me what you think.

Tokay bites don't hurt that bad. I've been bitten numerous times by mine. To get him to release (if he doesn't automatically), just spray him in the face with some cold water. Ditch the leather glove, as the lack of dexterity will most likely lead you to hurting him by grabbing on too tightly or grabbing his tail. To get him off the side of his tank, slowly, put your hand, palm up underneath him starting from right under his head.

He looks quite skinny, even for a juvenile. I'd recommend putting unflavored pedialyte in his water to help prevent any dehydration issues.

ok sounds good so on the pedialyte should i put it in his standing water in his bowl or in the water i mist bc ive heard they dont drink free standing water just what is on plants and such? and ive also heard that the pedialyte will stimulate eating? is that true?
i know he is skinny thats how i got him and im trying to nurse him back to good health but i dont think he has eaten yet. but next time i have to catch him i mite just drop a cricket in and put him back in a hid or something

You can put it in both. I've seen mine drink from the bowl, and from the droplets. The electrolytes will help stimulate the appetite, that is true. The easiest thing I've found is to leave food in there overnight, since they are nocturnal. You can try offering things like hornworms and waxworms to help him put on some weight a little faster.

Tokays seem to have become a hot topic on the forum this week. I think I may need to make some plans :p. Id have to agree though he looks a bit skinny. Though im not one to jump to conclusions, how does his feces look?
