As some of you know, my juvie gecko has been sick for about 3 weeks. I called the only vet in my area that will see herps, and he said that this baby was probably too thin to even try to save. I have been doing all I can, Feeding her slurry, bathing her, cleaning out her tank every day. Today When I fed her she got really bloated and even kind of seemed like her abdomen was prodruding slightly on one side, and she had clear brown type poo. I think some how she is impacted...on slurry? I have no clue what to do to help the poor girl. I will update!

i highly doubt she is impacted on slurry. maybe she had some gas. i dunno did you take that poo to the vet at least for a fecal test?

didnt you say in another thread your gecko was like 3 or 4 months old and like 4 grams?

i do not mean to sound harsh but the vet most likely is right. it may be in the best interest of the gecko if it was put down.

Yeah, I know! I don't like seeing her suffer, but she is just a baby! She did poo, but not on the plastic I wanted it on to take for a fecal! now it is all soaked in a paper towel! I am trying to get some fecal poo, but it isnt hapening! I will keep trying!

she is just a baby and no gecko should have to suffer. this might be the pint where you might want to put her down. we want to try and save all of them but sometimes we cant

I agree with Robin sometimes you can't save them all, and it's a hard choice to make either way. I hope you choose the right thing for the gecko and it works out for the best.

The bulging you saw might just be her stomach. If she is that thin, it probably protrudes when her stomach is full. I agree with Robin though. I may have missed your other post, but are you giving her anything solid to eat?

at this point her organs might be failing and she may be dehydrated. if you were to medicate this little one chances are the medicine alone would kill it.
