So a few months ago I have bought two Leo's from a breeder ..both from the same clutch. The two eggs were incubated to be females at the temps of 82f-83f. Turns out that one is a male ..as I can deff tell by the hemi-bulges
and the dark brown V shape pores. The other one who I thought was a female ..is kind of starting to show the bulges depending how I hold her. And I can see some pores .. on her as well but their not AS dark and brown ..and some dots are bigger the the others .. kind of like .*....*.. if you know what i mean
What are the chances that it is a male? ..shes in another tank with a female ..and I haven't witness any mating signals ..

It can be tough to tell when they're little. I incubate at 80-81 and have produced 1 male each season, but sometimes they all start looking male. The best thing to do is to keep checking, keep comparing them to each other and if you know anyone else who knows about leos, ask them to look. If you can take some clear pictures, people on here can weigh in as well.

LOL I tried to take pictures ...camera isn't good enough .. I think I'm going to get a divider just in case. I just don't want to make them sad by dividing them apart =(

Temp sexing is not 100%, rather it is a probable. In Mack snows it's undependable. Also, the room the incubator was in may not have had a steady temperature low enough and if it got a bit warmer, incubator temp could be a degree or even two higher. As Aliza said, it's difficult to tell for sure until they're a bit bigger. I've got some that I look at and think one thing then next week question it. Males will begin to become "hormonal" at 5 months, but aggression can occur anytime there is communal housing, even among females.

even on females you can see little dimples in the shape of a V where the pores would be. so it might be these that your seeing.
