I called my bf today while at work to say hi and he says everything is good. Keeps telling me that my daughter lost a drumstick and he can't find it. I'm thinking he means a wooden drumstick. NO!!! It's a chicken drumstick!! When he asks my daughter(she's 2 1/2) where it went, she says the dog ate it!! So I make him bring the dog to my job and take some x-rays. Sure enough, 2 nice sized bones in his stomach. My 16 yr old dog is now on IV fluids and a series of x-rays to see if it's going to move on through. If not, it's going to be surgery. I won't know until late tonight or tomorrow morning. I am so mad at him. Why did this happen? He had to go to the bathroom and left my daughter unsupervised with 2 drumsticks and left the dog and cats in the room with her. My dog has taken food off the table in the past and she does try to feed him everything she eats. He knows that she is to be watched when she is fed to avoid this. I seriously want to kill him right now. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

take a breath...men sometimes act, then think. I will keep your dog in my thoughts and hope it passes with no incedent. keep us updated and hopefully this will be a lesson to your bf.

What do you mean they think? I don't know a man that actually thinks!! ;)

I hope all is well with your dog. Keep us posted.

Lucky for the bf that I was able to bring my dog home today. He is passing the bones through nicely and will have be on a high fiber diet for some time. Thank God. I was so relieved.

He got the brunt of it when I got home from the night of leaving my dog at my job. He is still getting the snide comment here and there from me. He is not going to be able to forget this.

Just to play devil's advocate here.....

Why wouldn't you train your dog not to take food off the table?

Canine's are infinitely more trainable than us men.

He used to never take food off the table. But that all changes with a baby. The temptation is over whelming and it doesn't help that my daughter loves to feed him. When she is fed, she is supervised. But the man does not think.
