Sorry for this newbie question.. tried searching but to no avail..
is it okay to transfer the hatchling after hatching to a new container or should i leave them in the laybox for a while with the other eggs and hatchling? thank you for the inputs.

I take the hatchling out of the incubator as soon as I find her. I put her in a deli cup and then carry it to my hatchling enclosures. The only time I would leave a hatchling in the incubator (and I haven't had to do this yet) would be if I had a premature one who seemed very weak. So far all my hatchlings, including the one that hatched last night with a bit of the yolk sac still on her (it's gone now) are usually running around in the egg container. I worry that they won't have enough air in there and also that they'll kick over the other eggs.

THey usually don't eat until at least after they shed, and they often shed at about 3 days. I put my newly hatched geckos on tile with only a hide for each of them and I mist the cage at least 3 times a day. Once they shed, I give them a very shallow water bowl and mealworm bowl with about 5 mealworms in it, as well as a humid hide. They often start slowly to eat. Just keep track of their poops and you'll know they're eating.
