This Albino Tremper was given to me because her tail tip was bitten off by a female cage mate.

It appears to have gotten substrate in it. Does this look normal for a tail wound? I am going to try and clean it, but wanted to get some input first.

Any input is appreciated.

Is this a regrown tail that was bitten, or is this a tail that has been bitten off? I actually don't think it really matters. I just had to deal with a pretty significant bite at the side of a tail. From my experience I'd recommend the following: wash it off well by either holding it under a stream of water in the sink running warm (and not too forcefully) or by pouring water on it, or possibly by soaking if that's less upsetting to the gecko. Make sure it is on a substrate with no particles (like sand or eco earth) and if it's on something like tile, make sure it's clean. Leave the gecko alone. It will heal. I have done that with my gecko and it's coming along very nicely.

My female got her tail partially separated from an over eager male trying to mate. To treat the area I gave it a quick rinse and then I placed triple antibiotic on it. It was healed over pretty good in about 2 weeks.

Hey Aliza,

This is just a tail that was bitten off. Eco-Earth is exactly what it looks like it was kept on. Rinsing was my plan, I was just worried she might drop the whole thing. I've got her just on paper towels for now.

Thank you for the input.
