Would a tremper albino patternless have a red pupil?

Someone called my patternless a tremper albino, but she's got a black pupil. I don't really know much about tremper albinos because I'm not much into them.

depending on the incubation /rearing temps(and of course, genetics), some TPAs have pupils that appear red, but the cooler incubated/reared ones have such dark red pupils that they appear black. usually, we refer to the color of the eye surrounding the pupil--but I belive that you're talking about the inside of the eye--when you look into the pupil. Some Trempers have lighter eyes (genetically), and some are genetically darker, regardless of the incubation/rearing temps. Hope this helps :)

okay -

So since Arwyn seems to have quite a bit of red around her pupil although the pupil looks "black"

then she's a tremper patternless albino?

And bred to a normal that is not het for either would make the babies -
all normal 50% het tremper, 50% het patty?

and those babies theoretically might produce - normals, trempers, pattys and tpas bred to each other depending on what they are actually het for?

I was kinda mad that she was a Tremper because I wanted to work on bell pattys, but heck, I just branched out into another handful of morphs without much investment if I can get the eggs to hatch and get no deformities! Heck, I might get lucky and this normal male prove out het tremper or patty (my high yellow proved out an unknown bell!)

I was the one who called her a TPA because I`m 100% sure she is. And a pretty one at that!

Nigel-

I was just trying to understand a bit with the eye thing hun.

My bell gal looks to have a pretty red eye and pupil and I was trying to sort out the differences between the albino lines.

I think she's beautiful for a pet store find :main_cool3:

I played with Genetics wizard and this is what I got

I played with Genetics wizard and this is what I got:

Generation 1 (Smegal - normal x Arwyn - TPA)
WT x Homozygous AA, Homozygous PP

100% Het. AA, Het. PP - Normal double het albino and patty

Generation 2 (Offspring to each other)
Het. AA, Het. PP x Het. AA, Het. PP

6.25% WT - Normal
12.5% Het. PP – Normal het patty
6.25% Homozygous PP - patty
12.5% Het. AA – Normal het albino
25% Het. AA, Het. PP – Normal double het albino and patty
12.5% Het. AA, Homozygous PP – patty, het albino
6.25% Homozygous AA - albino
12.5% Homozygous AA, Het. PP – albino het patty
6.25% Homozygous AA, Homozygous PP – patty albino

So on the normals that would be produced, what would be the ethical way to market them? normals, 50% het tremper, 50% het patty, 25% double het?

Okay here is the genetic wizard defined a little bit more. Just did it so you know what percentage chance the offspring have of being het for a trait.

56.25% Normal, 66% het Patty, 66% het Tremper Albino
18.75% Patty, 66% het Tremper Albino
18.75% Tremper Albino, 66% het Patty
6.25% Patternless Albino

Also I believe it is hard to get a Tremper Patty from double het crosses. I wasn’t around when the Tremper patty was trying to be made originally, but I believe it was almost has difficult as the bell patty. My suggestion would be to keep one of the males you get from the Tremper Patty x Normal cross, and cross him back to your Tremper Patty, as from this you are more likely to get a Tremper Patty.

Here is what you would get if you crossed a double het tremper patty to a tremper patty.

25% Normal, het Tremper, het Patty
25% Patty, het Tremper
25% Tremper, het Patty
25% Tremper Patty

Just simply tell the buyers the genetic of the offspring, which are listed above.

If I don't breed offspring back to her -

what should I be looking for, for a mate for her next season?

I was thinking maybe a Mack Snow Tremper Albino?

The offspring from 100% double het to 100% double het breedings would all be 66% possible het Tremper and patternless. You'll get alot of variation when breeding double hets together--normals, trempers, patternless and Tremper patternless--all 66% het for the traits they don't outwardly exhibit. TPAs are harder to produce from scratch, but once the genes have "snuggled" in a double homozygous gecko, and you breed hets produced from a TPA--it's alot easier for those 2 genes to combine--I was told this from the guy who produced the first TPAs: Garrick D.

what should I be looking for, for a mate for her next season?

I was thinking maybe a Mack Snow Tremper Albino?*
I'd breed her to a Mack snow patternless het Tremper that came from a TPA breeding...you might get a Mack snow TPA or 2 :D

Yeah Mack Tremper Patternless aren’t very expensive either, I have seen multiple dealers sell hatchlings at $150 a piece. And a mack tremper runs around $100 so you might as well go for a gecko that is already has the patternless gene!

k, then that's what I'll be looking for in the future for next season.

I think she's reabsorbing right now from the pair up with the normal. So I might not even have to worry about a bunch of double het normals. I was just gonna play around with those anyway.

off to start looking at mack snow patternless het trempers - so I know how much I need to save up for my next gecko :)

Unless I win the drawing for the 3 geckos guys in Daytona - then they can find one amongst the three of them and send me a male :main_laugh:
