Tremper Hybino or Tremper Albino ?

Hello everyone !

This year was the first breeding year for me and hidden hets I was not entirely sure about pretty much surprised me. My SHTCTB male is now 100% het Tremper Ablino and my "Blizzard" female is in fact Eclipse Blizzard Patternless-Stripe het Tremper Albino (I know, insane). They had 10 baby geckos, 2 Hypos (1 of them is Jungle), 1 insanely beautifull Jungle / Patternless stripe Hybino with carrot tail and the rest looked like Hybinos, darker or lighter. But as this Hybinos age, some are still pretty dark, lookink like Tremper Albinos.

So I am asking you, may some of my hatchlings be Tremper Albinos ?
Parents are:
MALE - SHTCT het Tremper albino
FEMALE - Eclipse Blizzard Patternless-Stripe het Tremper albino

A "hybino" is a Tremper albino that hatches with bands (as opposed to stripe or jungle) and becomes a super hypo as the bands disappear. So, they are all Tremper albinos. The ones that end up solid orange on the body with no spots are "hybinos". In your pictures, the first and third look as if they may eventually be hybinos. Does that make sense?

Thank you I know all the Hybinos are de facto very yellow Tremper albinos, just wanted some other more experienced breeder's opinion on what should I tell potential buyers. I was unsure if the darker one should be considered Albino or it is developing Hybino-like look. Both hatchlings are about 3 months old.

It's a little confusing when you talk about the gecko being either hybino or albino because it makes it sound as if the hybinos are not albinos. It's a little clearer if you talk in terms of banded albinos vs. hybinos. I would say that when you're describing the geckos for sale, you can call the ones that are solid yellow/orange with no body spots at all "hybinos". If they have just a little spotting, you can say they are "reduced spotting" or "hypo" albinos. How about that? The 3-month olds that have nearly no spotting may actually develop into hybinos within the next few months.

Basically repeating what Aliza said - a tremper hybino a hypo tremper with little to no spotting. It has nothing to do with yellow or orange coloration. Tremper Sunglows are hybinos with tangerine coloration so the hybino term tends to be used for those that are not sunglows (i.e. less orange and more yellow) but technically, it can be used for either.

You could label them as hypo if you want, but a lot of breeders just label them as trempers. People can see that they have little or no spotting anyways. I label sunglows only because of the super hypo and tangerine, but all my other albinos are just labeled with the strain and parent information is given out. A lot of breeders do that with tangerines now, too. Many don't use SHTCTB anymore. They label as tangerine and which line. It's really up to you.
