I’m doing my best to figure out all the different morphs and genetics with leos, but there is one thing I just don’t get. What makes a leo a "tremper" or not? What is the difference between a tremper mack snow and just a mack snow, or a tremper blazing blizzard and a blazing blizzard, etc..? I know the term tremper comes from the person that discovered it but what exactly did he discover?

Tremper is an albino strain. there are three, bell, rainwater, and tremper.

if something is labeled as tremper it means it has the albino gene. so a mack snow tremper will be an albino version of the snow

I've seen tremper be labled as Texas albino and Rainwater labled as Las Vegas. Just as a heads up if you run into those and are confused. I don't think the term Texas Albino is used really anymore, but I know Las Vegas is.

The gene that codes for the lighter pigments. Tremper albino is a simple recessive gene--it takes 2 copies of that gene to make an albino, if a gecko has only one copy of the gene, it is a 'normal' het for tremper albino.

Blazing blizzards are created when 2 recessive genes (Albino & Blizzard) are both expressed in one animal.

I think whats confusing you is some animals are labled, albino, or blazing blizzard. Some are labeled tremper blazing blizzard, or tremper albino. Its just putting the strain of albinism on the front of the actuall morph. a tremper blazing blizz is the same thing as a blazing blizzard. the term blazing blizzard just doenst specify wich of the 3 strains of albinism is present.
