My leo has been trying to climb up the walls of his tank for a while, and when he does i take him out and let him climb all over me, but when i put him back, he keeps trying to climb out. Im just wondering why. He seems to do it only when im in the room for more then 4 minutes.
It's called the "gecko dance" and many of them do it because they see the wall as an obstacle. Sometimes I think that if a leopard gecko were in a cage that was half a mile in diameter it would go to the wall and try to climb out!
I'm not sure if it's as effective for geckos, but when I have a tortoise that's more interested in what's on the other side of the glass,I paint a strip around the outside of the tank, about 6" high. once they can't see out, they lose interest in getting out.
