Hi,

I just want to build a rack for my leos. I want to build it with 40x33,5x17cm tubes. Are they big enough for housing one adult leopardgecko?

All you need for adult leos are 15 quart tubs... 40cm is roughly 15 and a half inches, 33cm is 13 inches, and 17cm is about 6 and a half inches...
I am going to say that that size tub would be perfectly fine for one adult and you can even breed a pair in that size tub as long as they will not be housed together for too long...

So based on your measurements you'll have tubs that measure:
15.7" x 13.2" x 6.7"

Converting that to quarts, those tubs would be 24 quarts +...definitely large enough for a single adult. I house single adults in 15 quart tubs.

The wetbox will be 18,5x12,5x5cm big. Is the walking area, within the wetbox in the tube, even big enough then?

I mean, when I have a big wetbox in the tube, is the area to walk in the tube even big enough?
