I have been trying to find plastic tubs for the rack I'm going to build this weekend but walmart didn't have them. Instead of running around all day from store to store I was wondering if anyone here knew where I could find 15qt. tubs I really want something under 6" but definatly not over 6 1/2" high. I live in Va but if anyone know any good chain stores that I could find them in other than walmart please let me know. I'll be going out again later this afternoon to try again hopefully I can find them it really makes it hard to build a rack without them lol:help:

We get all of ours at Walmart. Walmart is usually pretty good about restocking quickly. I would check back later this week, they're going to have the best prices.

I have looked at the dimensions of a few brands and found I didn't like sterilite for the rack. They were too tall and didn't have enough floor space to me. I was looking for something like this or this [Ihttp://www.coastalbaycompany.com/product/IRIS-STC-410 at a better price would be awsome.

We use target but we like sterlite. Kmart/sears has rubbermaid which may be more to your preference. I'm not sure of the dimensions.

I recently found some 18qt ones at kmart that I love, I personally felt 15qts seemed a little small for adults, so wanted something a little bigger but not to big. After looking at walmart and target, I finally found 18qt ones that were not all in the height like the previous ones I saw. I use 15 qts for babies/juvies, you can get them anywhere for cheap.

15 qt for hatchlings? I think thats a bit over kill
No way, of course you could start out with 12 qt but would have to move them up to 15qt anyway, this cuts that step out;),plus I have a crap load of 15qt tubs:main_yes:

I like the 12 quart Sterlite for sub adults- adults. And the 6 quart for juvies. Seems to be alright and they are healthy.
Sorry, not trying to sound rude or anything, so please dont take this the wrong way but how in the heck do you fit everything in a 12qt tub and have room for a juvie-adult leo?. I keep mine in 15 or 18qts and it can get pretty tight with hides, humid hide, water dish, calcium dish, and mealie dish. Sorry I just cant imagine it, you have any pics of your set-ups?.

btw, for the record, I give females the lay boxes when they are gravid, when they are not gravid, and for males, I give a small hide, and mist their cage every few days for alittle extra moisture for them

I use those same little dishes for my mealworm dishes, their the only thing that the mealies dont seem to escape from. When its not breeding season, you are able to fit a regular and humid hide in their?. The 15qts are generally wider and a little higher then 12 qts.

I think you will find a lot of people use the 12 quarts. For gravid females I use 28 quarts because I sometimes house like 2 together with a lay box. My geckos tubs are for security. Also to provide the right type of environment (temp and humidity). It saves a lot of space and they get moved to bigger holding tubs for some "playtime" daily while I clean the tubs. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with bigger tubs. I will probably use bigger ones when I design my next rack, but the ones I use now are sufficient.:2thumbsup:

I think to big can be a problem with hatchlings, thats why I said I didnt like the idea of a hatchling in a 15 qt. It is harder for them to find food and water in a larger container. I keep my geckos housed in 6 qts the whole way until they hit 25 grams, then I move them over into 15 qts

I agree to big a cage isnt good but 15qts arent that big, especially when you get done putting everything that needs to be in their. Plus my leos eat mealies out of dishes. You shouldnt really just be dropping mealies in the cage regardless of the size of the cage. I feed crickets using feeding tongs that takes care of them hiding from the leos. But like they say,do what works for you :)
