TUG Bell Sunglows?

You, know I think your right, Nigel, just the Tremper strain. What would make you think differently? I can’t come up with a reason why you would think differently. I know they don’t have Bell, or Rainwater, Stains of Sunglow.



I would love for somebody else to comment on this, though.

My guess is Michael took some Tangerine Tornados or SHTCT from TUG and crossed them with some Bell Hybinos.

So Technically speaking that wouldn't make them TUG Bell Sunglows just from TUG lines correct? I`m just curious if everyone else thinks they should be called TUG Bell Sunglows?

First, I would suggest if you have any questions about an ad, contact the seller.
Secondly, I took the ad to mean that, inside the ad there are both animals of The Urban Gecko bloodline as well as Bell blood lines. Not necessarily mixed together.

Again though, I would contact the seller (he is a great guy in my book) and ask him to clarify.

Sending me a PM inquiring about one of the Sunglows, and posting it on the forum in attempts to credit or discredit the add, is still not exactly a tactful thing to do..

that said, i understand where you're coming from.. when i got them from TUG, i really knew little their breeding projects, becuase the prices were astronomical.

I traveled throughout Canada at the time for work and was able to get over there at point and snatched them up fairly cheap (cheap for their avg prices)

but simple answer - Yes, at some point The Urban Gecko did work with the Bell Strain... but from my assumption it's darker tones weren't in line with the rest of what he produces.. so he moved on..

just my thoughts..

These Leos in the add are 2nd generation of the original parents.. whom i still have.. I have 3rd Generation eggs incubating as well..

I appreciate the comments regarding our brood and opinions/information many of you have noted. I also would like to extend a thank you to those who noted how this question should have been handled between the interested individual me.

However, someone chose not to do that. They also chose not to head my last post about professionalism and tactfulness, but instead chose to continue propagating controversy and even contacting Craig (Owner- The Urban Gecko) himself for verification. Meanwhile, attempting to cover their juvenile acts under the guise of, “I’m not trying to discredit the seller, but just want opinions”…

Unfortunately, transparency is not one this individual’s strong suites. Finding the that the individual is 14 years old only solidifies that they’ve got a lot to learn.

If it was opinions they were looking for; the source of the actual animals is not the place to retrieve them.

I’m doing my best to stay within the TOS of this site and personally attack the individual, and I think my attitude and message is implied. I would be happy to clarify in person if you wish.. :main_evilgrin:

But as a result, I’ve spoken with Craig and gone back through my records from over three years ago, and 3 generations of parents and offspring. Turns out I was indeed incorrect and TUG has not worked with Bell at any time. The parents were purchased and were not Bell mixes. Like I said, in my replies to both the PM and the post (which were the exact same!), I knew little about them, their value, or their complete genetics at the time of purchase, (the hatch certificates were also destroyed in travel via Horizon Airlines. I was more of just happy to be purchasing a TUG Leo. They were then bred out to two Bells in Gen 1, and then line bred back and forth to blend the two; Gens 2 & 3. So in essence they carry TUG bloodlines, but are not, ”pure TUG”, per say..

However, the Bells were acquired directly from the bells in Daytona, and through another member here on the forums. You can give Mark a call if you’d like chief..


So for posterity and to essentially quell a specific individual’s query for, “opinions” and boarder line acts of slander; The three Leos available are a Mix of BOTH Pure TUG and Pure Bell bloodlines – AKA a hybrid of the two.

I hope this clears this up and that said individual is pleased that they’ve now wasted mine and many people’s time and energy dealing with this trivial subject.


In the future, everyone is welcomed to contact me with any questions or interest. We are always available for questions of any kind, and spend a large part of our time helping individuals as best we can. That said, if you’re simply going to go around and ask everyone else the same question until you get the answer you want, or get, “opinions”, from what looks like nearly 20 people in this post..

Then don’t ask..

These are lessons that will be learned throughout the rest of this young person’s life, as I’m sure many of you will concur. However, I’d suggest they take this lesson quite seriously, because the reverberations of not digesting these social rules will be negatively impact their entire future.
