Since I live in florida i can not get dubais shipped to me. I was thinking of startign a colony due to not wanting to buy feeders. What would i need to help start a colony fo these Turkistan roaches

I believe turks are illegal in FL as well. Only roach species you can keep there are Discoids. All roach species are pretty much kept the same. There's plenty of roach care sources on the net.

Why not try a colony of Discoids? They can be used as feeders too.

they get way to big for a leo so all i can rly feed r babies or semi adults. once there adult i dont think a leo could eat

I've got a couple females that can eat adult male Dubia. It works out great cause they only need to eat one roach per feeding! Most of my other Geckos that are above 40grams will take an adult male if i catch one just after molting!

I can say from experience that certain species of roaches are allowed to be shipped to Florida, such as discoids, male hissers, death heads and green banana roaches. Any native or adventive species is allowed. Yes I did mean to type male hissers as females arent allowed. In fact the main colony that produces the green banana roaches we sell was originally obtained in 1994 from Florids. The green banana roach is not native but adventive there. Green banana roaches are also much smaller than discoids or dubia

not allowed...? i'm sure that you might be able to find someone that has dubias in florida... just like how we can't have ferrets in california... there are tons of breeders and people selling them on craigslist all the time... we also can't have caulerpa taxafiolia (marine algae) in california yet, a lot of fish stores sell it...
