Okay, so I havent done much research yet, but I read somewhere that you should never turn the eggs. You should remove them from the nest and place them in the incubator exactly as they where laying.
Is this true?
Most breeders here I believe use a fine point sharpy to mark the top of the egg so they can tell what way goes up and to tell what morph or parents it came from.
Yeah Sharpies are what most ppl here use. I will get some from a friend to Germany as I´´m not sure if the pen I used was realy a good idea....
I´´ve seen written mom and dad on the egg(like MSS*Raptor) with the sharpies and it seems like it´s no problem.
BTW if I´´m not wrong I´´ve read that you can turn eggs in end of the incubating without a dying gecko but I wouldn´´t test it with mine and their is no reason to test this for anyone else *G*
We had some eggs that got turned (5 total) and two were very close to hatching during the time it happened.. the reason they got turned was from a baby that hatched and was running around inside the container, digging up the other eggs.. but anyway, only 3 of the 5 eggs made it, the two that died were the two that were closest to hatching
The kids knocked over the incubator and all of the eggs were turned over inside their cup. We had five eggs in there at the time and 3 hatched and the other 2 are not set to hatch for 3 more weeks. So, Good luck
