WE HAVE TWINS * Mack Snow Hypos

I looked in the incubator today expecting a couple Snow hypo eggs to hatch and there were TWINS hatching, they are BIG kids for twins, I do not know how they both fit in that egg, lol. Both are doing great, they have large tummmy cords still but they will fall off.

Wow nice picture capture, never seen twins coming out together like that before. They do look pretty darn big for that lil egg, they never cease to amaze me. Congrats on the hatches. :main_thumbsup:

That is so amazing and ironically today on another leopard gecko forum someone else hatched twins (both Mack Snows).
Love the pic of the pair coming out, how exciting to see 2 come from the same egg. :D

Thank you all for enjoying my surprise with me, :0) It was really a hectic moment as I opened in bator as I do each morning, and saw the egg and thought that's crazy I never saw the head and tail come out of different ends in all my years of breeding, and as I looked closer I thought WOW that's TWO heads, lol. I love taking pics and thought I had to get th eshot before they were out. Of all days my camera's battery was dead, talk about BUMMED! But my hubby said I have the old camera you can use, and thankfully it was in time to catch them both still hatching.
My next thought was ..... I see two heads but what if they are joined at the body, what a shame it will be. But low and behold one soon bounced out and then the 2nd followed. How awesome.

Thanks again for sharing in my DOUBLE DELIGHTFUL MOMENT :main_laugh:

I was the one who posted the mack snow twins on the other site! They are 13 days old now. They are eating and defecating, but only 1 gram still. I am keeping a close eye on them and posting pics on my facebook page. I don't think it's really a common occurrence for twins to hatch, but I am not certain about this either. I am hoping that they are male/female so I can further investigate the genetic components in twins in leopard geckos. IMG_20130814_185648_185.jpg

Eve, just read the posts. OMG..how exciting!! I am sure you were taken back seeing two heads coming out of one egg. What a great experience. What is so awesome, is the fact that they both look good, and healthy. Congrats, and thanks for sharing.:main_thumbsup:

Hi, congratualtions they are adorable lil snow TWINS, :0) We BOTH had TWINS, awesome

Yeah, I have never had gecko TWINS until these yesterday, but I have worked with Collared lizards for many years and did have twin collareds. Problem was they were tiny and did not make it. It's nuts but these 2 kids are just as big as all my gecko hatchlings that hatch alone. The egg was very big,,,, and I still have the other incubating and it is large as well. Odds are it will not be Twins, but the interesting thing I did notice with these eggs is the ends were not rounded like normal baby eggs. They came to a small nob at one end. Weird looking wide in the center with a very narrow nob on the end.
The kids broke through the sides and not the end like normal hatching.
Best wishes with your new twins ;0)

In any case these kids are a GOOD size.

So cool and welcome in the Twin club Eve :main_thumbsup::main_cool3:!!
Let me know if you're interested in taking over my Twin-Project, as I need to cut my collection in order to focus on my veterinarian study.
Would love to see this project going into good hands (pm me for details ;-) ).
