Ok so I got the babies in this morning ordered all "regular blizzards" but boy did we get an unexpected surprise....

All of the babies look the same... like blizzards except this guy/girl, he/she is absolutely gorgious! But something tells me there is more to him/her then just a blizzard, I looked online to see if i was just being paranoid and the only thing I could find that looked like him was a mack snow blizzard.

Could it be the petshop I ordered him from have thrown him in on accident "or some thanks for using us surprise"

Or do you think this could be the result of a normal blizzard being incubated at an off temperature?

Here are the pictures.

It looks like maybe it's cold or incubated differently...maybe? Have they been home for a while on the correct heat?

They were shipped over just arrived today, it has been about 4 hours they have been here so far. The temperature was decently warm "70s to 80s" outside but I cant really confirm how warm they were kept being they were "fed x'd" Oddly enough they are not hiding or acting stressed, they are all out and about in there cages. and the undertank heater is running.

Do you think this could be a sign of prolonged exposure to cold weather last night while being shipped?

That would be my best bet, the funny thing is though it's the exact same coloration a Murphy's patternless has. Did you get the number you ordered, is there one extra?

If you ordered them wholesale, then it very well could be a different morph. But blizzards have a pretty wide scale of colors they range from...so I guess the ony way to know for sure is to keep it nice and warm and let it grow up a little bit.

The lighter Blizzard looks pretty skinny to me... you defanitly need to put some weight on him! But the color thing is weird. I think it still could be a blizzard that's just darker.

Yea I agree with you on the skinny note, I had bought a 500 pack of mealworms, I know it sounds like way too much but it was only 13$ I couldnt pass it up. They are super tiny mealworms so I am crushing them "dont want injurys in the geckos" mixing them and some calcium powder into the dry food gecko diet. They all seem to be eating it. Which surprised me being when I had geckos years ago they wouldnt touch food unless it was live. I think it'll do the trick.

Any suggestions? Or does it sound about right?

Wait...why are you concerned the mealworms will injure your geckos? They are insectivores. They eat live prey, and it's much healthier for them as well. You should be using live insects that have been gutloaded for a full 24-48 hours before feeding them out...they should be dusted with a proper calcium supplement as well...

Well its just I have heared mealworms can bite and harm a gecko more commonly with hatchlings then adults. I was just trying to avoid any health risk in the matter. because the geckos are only babies.

The live mealies are perfectly fine if they are kept in a ceramic dish in the cage. I'm not sure what you have heard, but there are quite a few untrue things that are said about mealworms. They cannot eat through your gecko. Most of the time on the rare occasion they do escape their dish, they wander over to the side of the cage with the water source, they don't generally feed off the gecko. Crickets can cause many more problems if live ones are left in cages for too long. Go with the live gut-loaded insects, it will be much healthier for your little ones in the future :main_thumbsup:

Ah alright thanks for the tip! I was just overly concerned I guess, I have had leopard geckos in the past. But this is my first time with raising from just a wee little thing, they look so much more fragile I probably let myself get carried away. :p

So anyways back to the mystery blizzard there, I remember you said the best way to know for sure is see how he/she develups as it grows, what would be the signs which would give away wether he/she is a standard or some miss categorized snow morph as he/she gets older? So I know what to look for. I do know which "doesnt really show on camera" he/she has black eyes with bright silverish white coloring, like snake eyes, which I know is common in blizzards "well pretty sure" Just figured I would throw that in since I know "sometimes" eyes can give away certain things about a gecko.
