I keep wanting to get a new gecko but one thing is holding me back, tank. I use glass aquariums but the setup up cost for them then a mesh lid and bleh bleh bleh can get pretty expensive. I like heating mats or uth so that will not vary but as to the actual habitat I was wondering what suggestions were out there. Keep in mind building your own can be even more costly...wood isnt cheap around here but anyways, any and all suggestions welcome dont be shy I am open to anything.

I use high impact molded polystyrene enclosures. They are about $100 apiece, but they are fantastic enclosures.

I got a 20 gallon long tank with lid and heating pad already attached off of craigslist for $10. I also got a 40 gallon "critter cage" for free off there because there was a small tear in the screen.

I sell 10 gallon with a mesh top at my store for less than 40 dollars. I think thats quite reasonable.
Glass is expensive.
Geckos are very expensive hobby.

I wouldn't say geckos are a expensive hobby...unless you are going completely and ridiculously all out with a display natural tank. Otherwise, they are pretty hardy animals.

Now Tropical fish, on the other hand....:juggle:

Lol IMO - all pets are expensive hobbies.

I think between their supplies and the feeders (god for bid if they have to go to a vet) can quite add up..IMO :main_yes:

Hahaha. If I knew, I'd probably cry. I bought them a couple at a time, so I got a bit of a discount. Now I can stay ahead of the game by just getting that enclosure instead of starting them out in something else.
