Unscented Hair Spray as "sealant"

What are your thoughts on using unscented hair spray on home made gecko structures as a final coat to cover the paint?

I use to use hair spray to seal my pastel drawings. A couple layers of hair spray and you can't smudge the drawing.

Would this work and be safe for my gecko?

Edit: I painted a humid hide, to make it darker inside. That's why I'm asking.

Cheers!

I wouldn't trust it, hairspray is water soluble, so it wouldn't last long and may expose your gecko to harmful chemicals.

Any humidity would make it sticky and it your gecko would just end up with hairspray all over it. It seals pastel because the chalk and paper absorb it. Plus, you don't get artwork wet. lol

Yeah, a sticky gecko doesn't interest me... Although then maybe she could actually climb the glass...

Thanks for all your input guys.
Going to ask at the store for "water based polyurethane sealant"

Cheers!

I would never use hair spray, it is not meant to be used as a sealer. They have non-toxic sealers at hobby stores and they are pretty cheap too.

What he said...

I used modge podge from the hobby store. It recommends 5 coats, but it seems to work well and is non toxic.
