Hi Everybody,

I know a lot of people have asked for updated pics. I'm so sorry I've been so neglectful of this forum and of any updates. Well it seemed like it took forever for her to get to this stage I really was starting to think she was stuck at the "light" phase forever. But in the last two sheds she has really darkened up and I think she has more to go. These pics were taken outside no flash in the natural sun so actually she looks much darker in indoor lighting. Also I did remove the bad shed from her tail after the pics (didn't want to tick her off during the shoot :D ) Also I did breed her so looking forward to some black pearl genetics to play with....fingers crossed for 1st year babies.....keep you all updated.

Thanks all....I got inspired to take some compare photos with a couple others to show what she looks like. One is in normal lighting the other two are with flash. I'm now seeing what others are talking about when they say they are having a hard time capturing in pics what they black pearls look like.

About what I bred her too, I am dissaponted in what male I had to use. I had a Very dark normal that was my first choice that I bought just for her I of course had to have him go through isolation and even had fecal checks done on him because lets face it I am not letting anything get close to my black pearl that's not clean. Unfortunately after all that I coudn't get him to breed with her for anything and even though I knew she was ovulating she wouldn't accept him. She is chunky and a little bossy so was actually trying to mount him :main_yes:the only way I could get her to breed was to use a huge domineering male. Since it's getting so late in the season I was screwed I couldn't get a male in for this season and go through a proper isolation period so I had to use the only huge male in my keep and that's a 95 gram snow bell albino male:( I know probably the worst thing but cute little genetic carrying BP's to play with are better this season than nothing at all.:main_thumbsup:

Snow Bell Albino X Black Pearl...

put that in your genetics calculator and smoke it. :) Thanks for the update, I'm excited to see what those babies pop out like, and then, the next generation down from that, that's the excitement right there...

I was thinking Afghanicus

Afghanicus....sigh... that was definately my 2nd choice for her but this other male became available, well I made an offer that made it available.:main_lipsrsealed: He was so dark that I actually had another breeder send me this awesome dark girl to breed with him too. Who knew he would be a dud under the sheets.:main_angry:

That's why they say unproven male I guess. I shouldn't have put my eggs in one basket so to speak and probably should have had a back up male in place. Oh well...I will still be excited to see little babies popping out from this pair...fingers crossed.

If you are looking for an Afghanicus male we can send one down your way. Plenty will be coming 7 in the incubator with more on the way. I think it would be a good pairing
