My pride and joy afghan male ... he's the only jungle to hatch out of my entire afghan group, pretty cool stuff. :)

Typical Afghan head pattern... (head pattern article coming soon!)

For those non-believers in Bold Stripes being somewhat dominant... a nice bold stripe from a Bold Stripe x Halloween Mask cross. :D

maybe in the last 20 years of production the stripe gene was in halloween masks. Afgan X R2 makes ALL banded ;)

Very cool junglish afghan!

Thanks for the comment, Paul. I've done some research, and as far as I know there were no stripe genetics in the HM... at least over the last 10 years Paul Allen and Albey have been working with them. (Paul and Albey, please correct me if I've misunderstood).

Nevertheless, It is shocking when you pop out nice bold stripes like that that otherwise only seem to come from years of line breeding - It makes me even more excited to cross the R2 genes into afghans and other genetics to see how things turn out.

Time will tell! ;)

Brittney im pretty sure there are a few striped HWM. My female is striped. Go check out the post Paul made a few halloweens back "reintroducing the Halloween Mask" he has bunches of pictures. I dunno If the "originals" where striped but somwhere awhile back I think it got crossed in with great success
From HWM X HWM Ive only hatched 1 BANDED, 5 striped. Father banded HWM mother striped HWM
From HWM X BOLD ive hatched 7 stripe 1 jungle
HWM X hypo enigma i got 2 abberent and one banded
HWM X Mack bell one banded one jungle
HWM X RRS one hypo stripe i guess is what i would call it..still striped
That afghan is awesome!

im going to need some afghans. cant wait for you to put some on your site!

Thanks! I've really been enjoying the afghans... they have this 'wild' sort of characteristic about them that intrigues me. The way they change and develop as they mature is my most favorite part of keeping and breeding them, though! :)
