Upgrade from 10gal to 20gal

I'm in the process of setting up a new 20 gallon tank for one of my geckos (moving her from a 10 gallon). I just wanted some opinions on the size of a UTH that I should use for this new tank. The current 10/20 gal heater I have for her 10 gal would seem too small for the 20. Should I just purchase another 10/20 UTH and place it right next to the current UTH? (The UTH I have on her 10 gal will be moved to the 20 gal, it's still got enough sticking power ).

Oh, and I'm using paper towels in this new tank (which I'm new to doing, I normally use repti carpet) and I wanted to know how many layers thick should I use to keep from burning my gecko.

I would go with a larger UTH and put it on a controller.

Different UTH's will get to different temps, but i doubt they would vary that much. I use two different brands of UTH and I use 3 layers of paper towels over the UTH to get a temp range between 88-92 degrees. Make sure you use a digital thermometer with probe to accuratly measure the substrate temp above the UTH.

Well I was planning on purchasing another UTH of the same brand, so I am not too concerned about different temps. I am currently using a rheostat to control the temps and also have a digital thermometer to make sure the temps are where they should be. Would it be best for me to purchase a 30-40 gallon UTH? Because as i said, the 10-20 gal one I have now just seems like it would be too small for this 20 gal tank.

I am using 10-20 gallon UTH's with my 20 gallon tank with no problem.

in my 20 gal my uth size is 11x17it covers the on half of my tank.

Yeah for my only 20 gallon housing my leos I also use just tje 10/20 gallon UTH

A 10/20 should be fine. I dont really use many UTH anymore because I mostly use racks.

Thanks for all the suggestions...I guess I"m just going to stick to the one 10/20 gal UTH...if I feel another of the same or smaller size is needed then I guess I will get it. As of now it seems fine, but it just seems so small...guess I'm just used to having the 10/20 UTH on a 10 gal and not a 20 gal.
