i went to make a shipment today at my local ups hub, and they informed me that they do not ship reptiles !! i don't know what to do now , i am a member of shipyour reptiles .com and thought they were affillited with ups!!!
Wow they are affiliated with UPS and don't know why they would tell you that,I don't use UPS at all,I use Fedex and I have never had any problems,you could try calling the Ups phone # for the facilities and talk with them and find out whats going on.

This is a comprehensive list of live animals accepted for transportation. Shippers are prohibited from shipping any animal not listed here, and all other live animals will not be accepted for transportation. The following live animals are accepted for transportation unless poisonous, venomous, and/or a Threatened or Endangered Species.
Some UPS places are independently owned and do not have to ship animals. You need to go to a UPS customer care center. You can call the 800 number and they will give you the locations where you can ship reptiles. I had the same problem the first time I shipped and they gave me a few locations that I can use.
If you're going to a UPS hub customer service center, rather than a privately owned UPS franchise, they are supposed to take your shipment. I ran into this problem as well at my customer service center. There was a poster on the wall that said something like "there are restrictions on these items" with a list that included live animals. The UPS rep there took this to mean that all of these items are restricted, not that there are limitations on some of the items.
HEre's what I did:
--I called the main UPS number (800 number). When I did this I got the artificial intelligence questioner. I found out that if you say "agent" it will send you directly to a real person
--when I got the real person I explained the problem and gave them the address of the UPS place where I'd been
--the guy on the phone said the supervisor from that center would call me back within an hour which she did
--the supervisor gave me her name and told me that if anyone gave me trouble to tell them to call her
--when I went back to the UPS center they took it with no problem.
well i printed the policiy off of ups .com and highlighted the word geckos and duct taped to the front door !!!! so mad !!!! i just thought it was funny when the ups driver in the store was like " i have worked here for 15 years and we never allowed reptiles and actually we found a lizard in a shipment and we had that guy arrested " , they were making me feel like a hard criminal in front of the whole ups staff and custumers!! and i just don't think the harrassment was right or warranted !! for god sake it was a 4 inch long gecko and i'm sure the little fellow ain't no terrorist !!! i'm i right or wrong here !!
one more thing , i'm a professional truck driver and when the driver that was at the ups said we have never carried animals and i've never delievered one , THAT JUST SET ME OFF !!! i would not be driving around with a unknown cargo , i make sure i know my restriction on what i can carry and what not ! a idiot driver like that can get a job at ups which is a high paying driving job and i can come on something is wrong here!
omg! I just read through the whole post and I cant believe they are giving you such a hard time! I would be PISSED! And I can be a b**** if I wanna be. On top of that, these are hard times. I would think that they would do anything for business right now, much like everyone else around here. *Shakes head*. Im sorry. That must be so frustrating!
