I was feeding the babies and I noticed the oldest hatchling bubblegum had her house torn up a bit, stuff pushed around etc. so I decided I'd pick her up to socialized and I noticed her front right hand was very swollen and red, with stuck shed halfway up to her elbow very thick. So I got a qtip and tweezers and got it off. IT looks bad! Her hand is still swollen and there's a dug in crease where the shed was! She's really favouring it by limping but is still using it. She's still eating and pooping, in a shoebox tub on paper towel, 2 hides a water dish and a calcium food bowl. Hot spot measures 93 by temp gun. I've included a pic and a recent pic of the setup as well. Thanks in advance!!

I had a hatchling a few years ago that had an even worse version of this. When she shed, not only did the shed come off, but it seemed that the attached skin was coming off as well. The vet called it "de-gloving", you can probably figure out why. I got some kind of antibiotic cream from the vet to put on. The hand was also quite swollen. The cream worked, she healed and was able to be sold because everything went back to normal. It doesn't seem from the picture that she has an actual wound. I guess the most important thing is to get that shed off somehow and if you just can't get it, you should really bring her in to a reptile vet who may need to use a special tool (like some kind of scalpel). Good luck with her.

I was able to get the shed off last night and thankfully today the hand has gone back to normal. Thank you very much for the response. There is no wound thankfully! I will keep a close eye to make sure nothing is hidden.

Ok update. I took her out today and she is limping turned in on her front legs. Is it the start of MBD? I dust the mealworms as best as I can but it doesn't work. I put a bigger dish in a high traffic spot hoping she will use it. Can I administer calcium drops? I have zoo med calcium spray that says it can be administered in severe cases 2-3 drops. I imagine I should dilute this? Thank you in advance.
