this is freckles, he’s my leopard gecko and he’s around 5-6 years old. i’ve had him since he’s been very young and i’ve never had any problems with him. a few months ago me and my mum took him to the vet because of the large growths on the side of his throat. the vet said that they were just a sign of his sexual maturity (as he’s also quite a big gecko and would apparently be the alpha in the wild??). so everything was fine after that until a couple of months ago (possibly around the start of lockdown). he’s always been a bit of a fussy eater and his appetite goes change with the seasons etc. but he fully stopped eating for around two months. i couldn’t get him to take anything, he wouldn’t even go to lunge at it. and before he stopped eating he also kept regurgitating morio worms (and eating them again) but i thought that was possibly because he was being bitten. his tail was very thin (although he was completely fine in every other way) but i’ve managed to get him back to a good weight on this ‘grub pie’ product (i have to spread it on his mouth and wait until he licks it off) which has been a struggle but at least he’s eating. his tail was actually beginning to look around the same thickness that it was when he was healthy but then this morning when i checked on him, his tail is completely thin again (he did shed last night but that has no affect on his weight). it’s now a couple of hours later and i see that he now has huge bubbles under his armpits (they weren’t there this morning). i know that those bubbles can be a sign of being overweight, but his tail is very thin for his size? he’s still active, his eyes are fine and he overall has no other issues.
the only thing i can think of is that he has a parasite from when he did actively eat live food. the vets are shut over the weekend, barely any of them specialise in exotic animals and it’s difficult to test for parasites as well? i’m at a complete loss and i really don’t know if he’ll last through the weekend.
sorry about how long this is, i hope someone can offer some help. thank you for reading :)

also i forgot to mention. his tongue used to be pink, then it turned red on the end and stayed that way, but today his tongue is extremely pale, almost white.
i really can’t find anything anywhere in my books or online.

I don’t know much about this but the lumps in the armpit I’ve heard sometimes also happen from them just storing calcium there or from having too much calcium in the system. I’m not too sure if this is correct or not but I’ve heard this from some people/breeders. Also those lumps behind the head really don’t look normal and I think that next time you go to a vet maybe go to a different one to get a second opinion on that just to make sure that the first vet was correct. Sometimes vets make mistakes so getting a second opinion about things like that may be a good idea.

thank you for responding <3
i’ve read about the bubbles being caused by calcium but since they developed so suddenly and he hasn’t been eating very well for a while, i didn’t think that would be the cause (although i’m not sure how much calcium is actually in the ‘grub pie’ product).
i probably should have gotten another opinion on the lumps at the side of his throat but there are barely any places near me that take exotic animals. my mum’s going to ring the vets on monday when they’re open and hopefully nothing happens until then

I think the vet is a good idea. From what you've said so far, I don't think it's dire, so I think he'll be OK till Monday (though obviously I'm not God, so there could still be a problem).
