Used set-up Okay to use?

I am going to buy a used set-up that housed another leo and I wondered what precautions I need to take before introducing my own leo? There is tile with sand underneath for help with the UTH...do I take it out and replace the sand or can I clean it? How do I clean it? Should I clean everything with bleach and water?

Suggestions and advice greatly appreciated...

It sounds like you got it down really. I would replace the sand, clean the tile very well and the tank itself with bleach and water. I don't know if you really need to put sand down under the tile, though. I don't have it under, I just have it filling in cracks.

sounds about right. I always do a 10:1 bleach solution and I would definitely clean everything and replace the sand.

Wow we have some pros on here. Great all. I use a solution to clean all of my enclosures twice a month. Not too sure on the name it is light blue like windex but smells nothing like it. I buy it from reptile swaps when I see it for sale and it usually goes for 5.00 a large spray bottle. Works great and streak free. When I am out of that stuff I use the 10 to 1 ratio of bleach and water.

Defently clean the cage out good and wash the tiles good to, and replace the sand.
