Uth and thermostat

So after realizing my uth was getting too warm(he wasn’t harmed) I purchased a thermostat, I hooked it up and set it to max out at 34 Celsius. The probe is taped down directly underneath the warm hide on the top of my substrate. Was all of this done correctly? I want to make sure he’s healthy and happy.

Oh and should I still be using a heating lamp as well or will that be too much

I usually don't risk tape inside any cages. Either I tape to the outside and then tweak temp up until inside floor reads correct temp with a temp gun or I lay inside and hold cable with hide edge or similar. Otherwise, sounds good.

You shouldn't need a heat lamp unless your home air temp is very cold.

Ok I will take the tape out and okay my home air temp is 80 so he should be good then
