UTH for wood bottom terrarium - question!

Hello all :)

I just finished my leopard gecko's new terrarium but discovered I have an issue. All UTH say not to use with wood. The bottom of my tank is wood. I just bought a Zoo Med pad too - argh. Is there any way to use this Zoo Med pad safely? I read I could put it inside the tank, stuck to a piece of glass on top and tiles underneath. I am wary, and want to make sure I do the right thing for belly heat. I'm frustrated trying to look for proper info! Thanks in advance for the help!

Um my only advice would be to speak to Gregg M.. He seems to have really good grasp on heat with reptiles and he himself I believe heats his racks from the back and NOT under and has had good results..

Gregg does say that belly heat is not needed.

However, for my wooden viv, I lined the inside with tin foil, put the heat mat over that, and then tiles over the heat mat. It works well and the wood doesn't even get warm, let alone burn. It's a pretty good setup
