does the copper/bronze sort of side touch the floor or does it face upwards?

I'm pretty sure that faces upwards. That side is the side that produces the heat IF I'm not mistaken.

I think the side that is sticky, is the heated side. Actually I know that for 100% certainty, that you stick the heated side to the aquarium.

my heat mat isnt sticky its one of the habistat ones?
