Ok, so i was at a pet store yesterday, and they are selling a product called "ESU Reptiles Slimline REPTILE FIXTURE WITH SUPER UV LAMP". This product is the lamp fixture, that comes with the UV strip bulb. Anyway, it has 3%+ UVB and 7%+ uva. this lengh of the bulb is 18 inches, and the price was 29.99, so does it sound like something good, because my first though was to get it for my anole, and i did buy it, It is already on her tank. But though i already spent my money on it, do you think i wasted my money, or do you think I got something that was really worth my money. Thank you for all you help. :main_thumbsup:

I don't think that providing adequate care and housing for a reptile is a waste of money, so I'd say it was worth it.

Flip the fixture over so that you are looking at the bulb. If there is a plastic cover that prevents you from getting the bulb out that needs to come off. I believe it's the ESU Slimline that has the cover on it. This cover prevents most if not all the UV from getting to the lizard. It's an easy fix so it's not a waste of money. But me personally I stick with using ZooMeds Repti-Sun 5.0 or 10.0, best brand out there if you ask me.

Oh yeah, don't forget that the UVB bulb needs to be replaced evey 6 months.

You can get replacement bulbs from reptisun for it anyway can't you? So yeah it should work ok provided you remove the plastic, I just bought one recently and it seems to be doing ok.

Yes you can replace the original bulb with a Repti-Sun if you'd like.

After thinking about your question I remember a situation that happened to me once. The UV tubes come in different sizes, they are labeled some thing like T2, T4, T8. As the number gets higher the bulb diameter increases. One of the fixtures I bought used a T2. I went to replace it and the replacement bulb was a T4. So becareful that you get the right size bulb.
