I have read numerous places that Leos do not require UVB lighting.
Is this correct?

Here is the semi long answer. Most nocturnal herps do not expose themselves in the day. So there is no possible way for them to receive UVB. But some nocturnal animals will come out in the morning and evening to bask and raise their temperatures. But if you keep the animals in the optimum gradient with a source of heat (not UVB) then they will be fine. So in order to supply the geckos with the nutrients and D3 that they are not receiving from the UVB, you need to dust their feeders using calcium with D3. So no UVB light but you need calcium with D3.
