My little leo won't eat waxies and it was brought to my attention in an earlier post that he could use some weight on him. Any suggestions? He has a dish that always has mealies in it and in the past two days he's only eaten 2. Is it possible that he's just a light eater?

I'm calling on Hans and Franz if nothing works soon. ;)

I have found that Dubia roaches are great to put on weight. Give them a try. I had recently gotten two rescues that were extremely emaciated and the Dubias fattened them up pretty quick.

He is a tad on the thin side. Something important to remember is that the meal worms need to be active and moving for him to have any interest in them. Switching old worms out for new worms every day or two can help with this. You can also put a piece of carrot, potato, or apple in there with them to keep them moving. You could also try crickets or other feeder variations.

I just set up a feeding 10gal tank with repti-carpet and tried it out. No luck :(. He just sniffed around, tasted and tried to walk through the glass. Perhaps when he gets used to it he'll start to hunt.

Dubia roaches, huh? Yeah, i'll try that. I'll try ANYTHING to get him up to par. Thanks for the advice. Are Dubia roaches easy to keep?

I switch out worms pretty frequently. How many do you think should be in a bowl at one time? I keep about 12 in there now.

Ridiculously so, most people just don't like having roaches.

Your gecko looks just fine in my opinion. Since when are fat animals, healthy animals? Obesity is never healthy. Same mentality in most folks who own dogs and cats.

The majority of the living things in America are FAT. It's easy for most of us to label as "too skinny" because everyone perceives things differently.

Thanks for your opinion :). I personally feel like he's on the fence. Others suggest he's underweight. My main concern is that I get him eating consistently so he doesn't tumble off his proverbial fence...be it onto the fat or skinny side. ;)
