We have ben to the International Dog Show at Klagenfurt, Austria, where my Border Collie Bitch "velvet" had her first start at Open Class, "under adults".
As by far the youngest bitch in her group, she made an "excellent, 4th Place" :).
Here the description:
"2 year old Blue Merle Bitch, good built, beautiful front, good upper line, good angles, complete set of teeth, correct hair texture, good movement, very friendly character."
I am very happy with the results, especially as the competition was big
and velvet was a bit deflected in the show ring and not easy to present :).

Congrats, Rebecca! It's always nice to start a show career out like that! You guys look great!

I really like how they give you the judge's interpretation of the dog in a lot of shows outside the US. It would be nice if they did that at AKC shows! :main_yes: It gives you a better idea of your dogs strengths and faults. It's easy to become somewhat biased or blinded by your own lines when working with them for a length of time.

Thank you all so much for the kind comments :).
Velvet is my first Border Collie to breed, so I am very thankful to have the judges interpreatation on how close she is on the standart. Although every judge has his own opinion of a dog:
One judge looks carefully on coat and moovement, the other one does not really look on moovement, but focus more on head and teeth. Therefore, the results of the same dog can be very different under 2 judges..
But at most, it depends on if the judge like the other BorderCollie coat colours or not. Its sometimes really hard in Europe to get good show resuts when your border is not Black&White..
