i did the 2 parts vermiculiet to 1.6 water (i.e. 80grams of vermiculite and 64 grams of water) but it feels dry still.

when i squish it in my hand it doesnt feel damp, it does clump together but that it...its a very course vermiculite, does this change the ratio of water?

is it possible its too dry or iv just got it wrong every time so far hehe?

you could use a mix ratio 1/1 by weight with vermiculite.( 80.gram vermiculite and 80.gram water) i use that mix with no problem, with airtight deli cup

ok, ill add another 16 grams of water, i still think it will seem dry though. does yours drop water or at least feel damp when you squish it?

i dont even measure out the water. i get my vermiculite and put it in some container. i add a buncha water (generally more than i need) to it. i let it sit for like five minutes then i go back with the cups i am going to use to incubate in and grab a handful of vermiculite from the water. i then squeeze as much water as i can out of the vermiculite (like wringing your hair out or a towel or something). it will be damp and sticking together but not dripping wet.

When mixing the ratio at .8:1 it does feel a little dry, but I have found that 1:1 is a little too moist when using the sealed container method. Once you seal the container, condensation will form which keeps the humidity at it's correct percentage.
