All of my fertile eggs that i get have been dieing this summer. Only 1 out of approx. 24 survived. I finally figured out that it was to much water in my vermiculite mixture. I can't get the mixture just right, esp. since i don't have a grams scale. My females are healthy and fat, i just have not got one yet.

If you could simplfy the ratio of vermiculite, and water that is needed ( or ratio that works best) in quarts, half cup, cup, ect. Measurments that are used in cooking, it would be very helpful.

I have them setup in the incubator, i have been taking out some of the moisture by using dry paper-towles to soak up the moisture in the air. The eggs are kept in a seald tub-butter containr with less than an inch of moist vermiculite. ,...
Should i continue to remove the moistur in side the container(with not know how much to take out) or start over with the vermiculite mixture?:main_huh:

You should perforate the lid... In my opinion, it should be somewhat manditory to do so... This will keep moisture build up in the container down... The humidity level can be a little high as long as the eggs stay dry...

With vermiculite, the best way to get your ratio correct is to soak the vermiculite and ring out the water by hand until no more water can be rung out...
