Antibiotics are harsh on their little systems so it will indeed take some time to recover. As long as he's eating and pooping with some regularity he's on the road to recovery. I've not used it but there is a probiotic for reptiles that some folks use following antibiotic treatments, look on [URL="http://lllreptile.com"[/URL] in their medication section.

I took my girl that had an eye ulceration for a check-up because it's been 3mos since her treatment began and she still gets a film over it. With a triple antibiotic eye ointment and single antibiotic eye drops and plain lubricant drops... The vet told me it will just take time, nothing more will help her faster as everything is being done. We get impatient :)

Keep your hopes up :) Thanks for posting.

Hey everyone, just a quick update on Nessy...

Took him to the vets again couple of days ago, they said the infection has gone but they're concerned bout him not eating as he's pretty skinny... They've taken a stool sample (get results tomorrow) and he needs tube feeding for next couple of weeks with a special formula to try and get his strength back. Keeping all fingers crossed, he's still really sleepy though so just hope he pulls through.

Thanks again for your help :)

Hey guys, sad news about Nessy :( he had to be put to sleep earlier today :( he'd been staying at the vets for a couple of nights and they were tube feeding him to try and get his strength up and running blood tests and x raying him but he was just getting worse, hardly moving or opening his eyes. The tests / X-ray showed he had a liver and kidney infection as well as fluid in his abdomen and he seemed to be suffering alot :( i miss him already :(
