Post VA Tech fallout? Who knows. But I know that in the Rochester area, there have been guns, and bullets found in schools. Also at RIT a kid was caught assembling 2 assault rifles. This world has finally become full of nonsense and idiots.

It's always been full of that, the media is just faster at reporting it now.

Two people were killed on my campus over the weekend. One in a drunken motorcycle accident racing with friends, and the other from a bar fight because the guy got his drink before some drunk guy's g/f. I heard that since VA Tech there have been about 10 threats at other schools... ridiculous...

I was watching the news last night, and they showed like 5 different school related things, bomb threats etc... They happen all the time but you dont really hear about them intill after something like the recent shooting.

I agree that really horrible things go on all of the time but it takes a "multiple tragedy" to create a "media frenzy" that males us painfully more aware of just how screwed up the world is.

Also for some strange reason-whenever something really awful happens and it is brought to our attention by the media there is an increase of "copycat " type activity

I am so caught up in my own personal problems and trying to deal with them that I hardly watch regular TV or the news anymore and I tend to try and avoid even the on-line news on the web

Do I have my head buried head in the sand-yup -but I swear at this point in my life-it's a self survival mechanism
I am quite content to be blissfully unaware of most of the worlds tragedies right now and I am emotionally exhausted with just trying to deal with my own crap

My heart goes out to everyone whose life has been rocked to it's core by horrible things happening to them

I think that life gets crazier every year

That's something that I seem to remember the "old folks" always saying when I was younger and now I am one of them and I have to agree 100%
I pray that everyone that has had great pain and tragedy in their life will also be blessed with goodness to balance things out

I think that it doesn't make the bad things easier to "get past" (if that is even possible) but it does make getting on with life a little bit easier when things kind of even out

I wish everyone peace and tranquility in this turbulent life
