About your leo:
- Sex: Male
- Age & Weight: Approx. 3 years old, approx. 80g
- How long have you owned your leo: 2.5 years
- Where was he/she obtained: Pet Store

A) Health/History
- How often do you handle your leo?
Lately not much (just recently moved, still settling in)
- Is your leo acting any different today? If so how does he/she normally act which differs from now?
He appears to be acting as he usually does- thermoregulating, keen for food, alert and active.
- Has he/she had any problems in the past, if so please describe.
He has had parasites and was treated for them 2 years ago.

B) Fecals
- Describe (look any different than normal)
Appear normal.
- When was the last time he/she went

C) Problem
- Please briefly describe the problem and how long it has been going on
Since five days ago he has been having what looks like violent hiccups, usually approx. 5 violent lurching motions in a row, where his mouth gaps open and his eyes close, and a "smacking" noise happens (or like a squelch-like sound) only during the first "hiccup". This seems to happen once a day for the past five days. Here's a video I managed to take of him; https://youtu.be/B3ZB2cTd1HQ
I think he may be attempting to regurgitate?
Possible causes/irritants;
- recently moved from temp-controlled house into apartment without AC
- lots of temp fluctuations (days got really hot then fairly cool- I attempted to adjust UTH as needed)
- installed AC five days ago, used it once, then started noticing the "hiccups" (haven't used AC since)
- draft from window on hot days? (before AC was installed)

Housing:
A) Enclosure
- Size: 1.5ft by 2ft (1ft high)
- Type: Exoterra Glass Tank
- Type of substrate: Reptile Carpet
- Hides, how many, what kind: 3 hides; 1 dry/cool, 1 dry/warm, 1 moist/warm (with sphagnum moss)
B) Heating
- Heat source: UTH
- Cage temps: Hot Side: I try to keep it around 90 F. Cool Side is room temp- I don't have AC so it happens to be whatever it is that day.
- Method of regulating heat source: I have a "ZooMed Repitemp Control" attached to the UTH, adjusted as needed
- What are you using to measure your temps: I was recommended to buy a ZooMed Digital thermometer (but I'm pretty sure its for substrate :/ ). This thing; http://www.+++++.com/assets/product_images/0/097612300246C.jpg
- Do you have any lights (describe): no (only an extra heat lamp during cold winter months)
C) Cage mates: none

Describe Diet:
A) Typical diet
- What you're feeding (how often, how much): Dubia roach every 4 days
- How are you feeding (hand fed, left in dish, ect): Placed in dish, eaten immediately
B) Supplements (describe how often): Dusted every time gecko is fed
- What vitamin/minerals are you using (list brands): ZooMed's Reptivite Without D3
- What are you gut loading food with: carrots, leafy greens, grains

Thank you for your input. I'm hesitant to take him to the vet because there are no herp-specific vets in my area- last time I took him to the vet (for a different issue) they just looked him over visually and said "I don't know what's wrong but he looks fine and healthy" and that was that. At this point though since no one can identify the problem (I've been asking elsewhere too- someone said he was just barking but I really doubt that), I'll try a different clinic and hopefully they can provide me with some answers. :(

How's his stool? Just curious if he ate something that didn't agree with him. I've seen my geckos throw up before and it kind of looks like that.

hey there. A gecko of mine had similar outbursts (exactly like the one in this video i found on youtube). After careful examination i realized that her nostrils were blocked and her breathing was kind of rough.

Long story short, it was a respiratory infection and after extended medication and lots of trouble unblocking her nostrils she is now completely fine. If i had taken her to the vet faster, the treatment would have been easier.
